The new (2003) atlas, which replaces the previous one last revised in
1989, is a 128-page book that provides comprehensive maps for the entire
state of Florida and features 17 pages of Gazetteer listings that include

Freshwater fishing; Golf courses; Wildlife areas; Parks, forests and recreation
areas; Museums; Botanical gardens; Historic sites; Zoos and aquariums;
Bicycle routes; Pari-Mutuels: Natural springs; Baseball training camps;
Canoe trips. The Florida Atlas & Gazetteer features full-color maps
for every corner of the state, from Ft. Clinch State Park to Key West.
In addition to interstates, highways and back-country roads, the pages
show active and abandoned railroads, power lines, woodlands, mangroves,
orchards, swamps and boat ramps.
The atlas employs a scale of 1:150,000, or approximately one map inch for
every 2.3 miles on the ground. In fact, joining all of the atlas pages together
results in a mosaic measuring approximately 17 1/2 feet wide by 15 1/2 feet high.
